About me
Hi! My name is Iram Asghar. I am a Multidisciplinary artist
I would say my art is about a lot of things.

It is a journey of love.
Of returning home
To self
In the form of queer shapes made of abandoned textiles wanting to be loved
In all of their strangeness.
The desire to get to know parts of the self that were once abandoned
Through the integration of words that arise in meditation
And communion with nature.
Deep personal explorations of my psyche.

I always wonder if I can make my most painful emotions something inviting to cuddle with, investigate, and caress.

Seeking to bring out the beauty in trash
Objects made entirely of things thrown away

All pieces are a piece of me, pieces of my healing journey. Investigating poverty and exploring my Pakistani and Turkish ancestry.

Finding medicine in the remembrance of unity with self.

Healing maternal cords— umbilical cords—and grounding back all parts of one’s self into the soil.

And the desire to live and honor life and all its expressions guides actions of care extending to all corners of
Forgotten people.
Forgotten lands.
Forgotten origins and ancestries.

Seeking
To conjure love to creep into corners like sand— not missing any spaces. Not a single

one.
